The climate in Białowieża Primaeval Forest can be defined as cool, temperate continental climate with the Atlantic influence.

Medium air temperature between 1955 and 2001 was 6,8ºC. The lowest recorded temperature was –38,7ºC (1950), the highest +34,5ºC. Average amount of precipitations was 633 mm per year, most of which took fell during the vegetation period. Winter is relatively long, and snow cover lingers for over 92 days. The vegetation period is quite short (205 days), a month shorter than in western Poland.
