Within the National Park area post-glacial forms can be found – boulder clays, sands, and sandy clays. North from Hwoźna, the elements shaped by the wind can be found in a form of ridges, and dune slopes made of fine and medium-grain sized sands. In the river valleys and in places of former high peat appearance, organic forms – peat and boggy soils can be identified. From that material the following soils were shaped : Brown soils, pseudoglay soils, grey brown podzolic soils, podzolic soils, rusty-soils, glay podzolic soils, black-earths, and the forms of peat soils from low, medium, and high peat bogs.
