Diversity of fungus-like organisms and microfungi
in various plant communities of Białowieża Forest

SUMMARY

Research was carried out in 28 sample plots localised in four types of forest habitats and under different protection regimes. Analysis of collected samples showed large diversity in the number of microfungi and fungi-like organism species in different habitat types, as well as in areas of different protection regimes. The impact of environmental factors on the diversity of species of the studied groups of organisms and their abundance in Białowieża Forest was studied.

Checklist of lichens (Ascomycota lichenisati)
of Augustów Forest (NE Poland)

SUMMARY

The paper contains a checklist of lichens which have been noted in Augustów Forest since the beginning of lichenological investigations (since the beginning of the 1920s) up to now. 363 species have been found. Among them, 11 species come from historical data. 279 species have been found in Wigry National Park. 39% of the lichen species of Augustów Forest are noted in the Red list of lichens in Poland.

Occurrence of Lilium martagon L.
in the Carpathian beech forest Dentario glandulosae-Fagetum
in the Góra Chełm reserve in the Strzyżów Foothills (Western Carpathians)

SUMMARY

The paper presents the occurrence of Lilium martagon in the Góra Chełm reserve in the Strzyżów Foothills. In 2013-2014, 15 phytosociological relevés were made using the Braun-Blanquet method. The aim of the study was to describe the plant community with Lilium martagon, and to determine the abundance of the analysed population.
Lilium martagon was found in patches of the association Dentario glandulosae-Fagetum in the peak zone of Góra Chełm Mount at the altitude 468-524 m a.s.l., in stands characterised by different exposures (NE, E, S, SW, W) and varied slopes (5-45°). The species occurred on moderately moist soil with a high proportion of debris. In the relevés we noted from 12 to 24 species (17 on average). The entire phytocoenosis comprised 30 vascular plant species. The tree stand was dominated by Fagus sylvatica and Acer pseudoplatanus, whereas the undergrowth was dominated by Dentaria glandulosa and many species from the order Fagetalia (e.g. Rubus hirtus, Galium odoratum, Lilium martagon, Dryopteris filix-mas, Galeobdolon luteum, and Paris quadrifolia).
The analysed population numbers were estimated at 260 specimens (172 generative, 88 juvenile). Currently, the species is not directly threatened by adverse factors, but it could be exposed to anthropopressure in the future due to the proximity of tourist trails.

Utricularietum neglectae Th. Müller et Görs 1960
in Słowiński National Park (N Poland)

SUMMARY

In Słowiński National Park phytocoenoses Utricularietum neglectae were found during geobotanical tests in 2014, in a dystrophic water tank, "Big Swamp", east of the town of Gać (coordinates 54°69'19,67'' N, 17°50'96,11'' E). In Poland communities are very rarely quoted. In Słowiński National Park patches of the community evolved in areas secluded and sheltered from the wind, in water depths of 20 - 130 cm, with a pH of 6.5 - 6.7 on the ground, or in mud with lots of peat. Most of them have a two-layer construction, fewer in a monolayer. This assemblage occupies small areas, up to a maximum of 100 - 150 m2. From 4 to 7, with an average of 5 species were recorded. In total, phytocenoses recorded 11 species of plants, and this is close to the number of species of this group in similar waters of peat in Poland and Germany.

Xylosandrus germanus (Blandford, 1894)
(Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Scolytinae) in Roztocze National Park

SUMMARY

In 2012, in Roztocze National Park alien and invasive species of bark beetle - Xylosandrus germanus (Bldf.) were first observed. In the years 2015 - 2016, research was conducted on the occurrence of this species in Roztocze National Park. Beetles were caught on 27 research plots, using the screen trap - IBL-2. The study area represented forest plant communities occurring in the Park. In 2015, 18 specimens were observed on the 6 study areas. In the same period in 2016 33 specimens were caught in the 11 study areas. Most often this species was observed on Dentario glandulosae-Fagetum communities. Individuals not observed in the humid plant assemblages: Vaccinio uliginosi-Pinetum, Querco roboris-Pinetum, Querco-Piceetum, Ribeso nigri-Alnetum, Sphagno squarrosi-Alnetum and Alneteo-Glutinosae. During the two years of observation the number of Xylosandrus germanus was shown to have increased.
