The European Bison Show Reserve is located on the main Hajnówka–Białowieża road, c. 3 km before Białowieża itself. An area of enclosures covering 27 ha presents the Forest’s large ungulates and large predators in near-natural conditions. Those failing to see a bison while out on the Park trails may thus see the species here instead, in the context of the group typical for it, comprising a mature bull, several cows and offspring. Other enclosures have moose, red deer, roe deer and wild boar, and there is also a wolf pack and a lynx. In addition, the recreated tarpan-type horse is represented by a stallion, several mares and young, and there are also specimens of the so-called Żubroń cross between European bison and domestic cattle.

The Reserve is open daily – in season (mid April to mid October), from 9.00–17.00, and in the off-season from 9.00–16.00 every day but Monday.

Dogs and other animals may not be brought into the Bison Show Reserve, with the exception of assistance dogs, in accordance with the Act on professional and social rehabilitation and employment of disabled people.
