Nature and Forest Museum Print
is a two-storey building in which the nature and history of the Forest is presented, along with the centuries-old story of human activity in the area. The most typical forest communities (of oak-lime-hornbeam, alder, pine and spruce forest) are on display, as are life underground, invertebrates, ungulates, predators and birds. Other dioramas help acquaint visitors with this area’s animals, plants and fungi of aquatic habitats and decaying timber. The part devoted to history presents forest beekeeping, haymaking, wood-processing for turpentine and charcoal, and the narrow-gauge forest railway. Exhibition is designed in such a way that the flooring, lighting, day and night effects and sounds all seem to transport the visitor into the heart of the Forest. The Museum also puts on exhibitions of a more temporary nature.
